It has been another fantastic weekend in Ribeira Sacra enjoying the beauty of Cabo Do Mundo Casa Rural and its incredible setting surrounded by nature. We have explored, discovered, relaxed and enjoyed. So what better than to celebrate a true DISFRUTING GALICIA Experience. A fun word used by my friends and I for 3 years as my broken spanish slowly improves. In english we like to add “ing” – “ING” to words sharing the action of an experience for Walking – Talking – Tasting – Enjoying all have the “ING” – so in sharing my passion for Galicia – DISFRUTA + ENJOY or ENJOYING = DISFRUTING GALICIA:)

Marcus and Monica of O Batuxo Belesar have created an incredible summer wine tasting and concert series in Ribeira Sacra. Was fun meeting Maria Jesus of Adega As Oubenzas and seeing all our friends enjoying – Maria of O Batuxo Belesar working hard with her big beautiful smile to keep everyone happy and glasses full of wine, Luisa Rubines of Quinta Sacra always all smiles to brighten up the place, Kris Pereira always making important connections and introductions has been so fun to hang out with you and to meet your friends, and Kaj Christensen of Cabo Do Mundo Casa Rural for making me feel at home and checking out the incredible festivities of the area – we missed you Lucie Christensen – Looking forward to more Tapas Y Vinos Y Musica Y MAS!
It is time to go into the kitchen for a little different AVENTURA DE COCINA – where the Winemakers – Bodegueros – Viticultores – will become the Cocineros 🙂
EL CAMINO DEL VINO for 3 years has been excited as we have been traveling Galicia meeting interesting people, learning the culture and exploring ALL. Visiting Santiago de Compostela is always special – and what is more fun than two friends from Canada Alex and Chris visiting for less than 24 hours and looking for some fun adventures in the Camino. Synchronicity always provides the platform for lots of FUN and we had an incredible surprise when we ran into Chechu at the Parador and Julio Castro, Director of the Parador Hostal Dos Reis Católicos, who paved the way for an incredible wine tasting experience. Thank you to everyone for including us in GALICIA EN CATAS 2014 – it was an fantastic time and we enjoyed meeting Juan Carlos and Marisé who created this incredible event. Looking forward to the next Aventura de VINOS! More than 270 GREAT Galician products – 250 + wines, cheeses, honey and liquors – what’s not to love and enjoy 🙂

We will continue our travels in Ribeira Sacra discovering this ancient pilgrim path known as the Camino Invierno – Winter Way – or as I like to call it EL CAMINO DEL VINO! With the sun shinning it is perfect for more time on the river – Rio Miño with Luisa and Quinta Sacra, a little gastronomy and wine tasting with Marcus and O Batuxo Belesar Restaurante a beautiful setting right on the river and of course more time in Lucie and Kaj’s HEAVENLY Cabo do Mundo Casa Rural. So much more to DISCOVER & ENJOY!
Looking forward to experiencing more of the history, culture, and incredible AMBIANCE that makes Ribeira Sacra – live up to its name – originally called by Queen Teresa of Portugal as “Rivoyra Sacrata” in 1124 when she mentions this incredible area and refers to the great abundance of shrines and monasteries located along the river.
